Our fees and pricing

In accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority guidance on price transparency, we have set out our pricing and fees below.

Employment Law

We offer a fixed fee initial consultation in all employment matters in order for us to assess and agree the overall work involved. The day-to-day running of your employment matter will be conducted by Michael Stewart.

Hourly rates

The current members of our team and their standard hourly rates are as follows:

  • Litigation/Insolvency Partner: £473 + VAT
  • Employment Partner £450 + VAT
  • Solicitor (5+ Years Experience): £415 + VAT
  • Solicitor (Under 5 Years Experience): £335 + VAT
  • Senior Paralegal: £278 + VAT
  • Paralegals and Trainee: £252 + VAT
  • Administrators: £206 + VAT

Range of costs

Advice only – £750 to £4250 plus VAT
Negotiating a settlement – £3,000 to £12,750 plus VAT
Preparation for a tribunal hearing – £10,000 to £30,000 plus VAT

Timescales

Advice can normally be provided within two to four weeks. If we are required to provide advice, correspond with the other party and achieve a settlement, the matter is likely to take six to eight months. If the matters proceeds to an employment tribunal claim, they can take between six months to two years to reach a conclusion.

Disbursements

We may need to make payments on your behalf, known as disbursements. These are payable to third parties such as counsel’s fees, expert’s fees, travel expenses and court fees.

Counsel’s fees will vary according to experience and the complexity of your matter. We will obtain an estimate from counsel for your approval before incurring this expense on your behalf.

Debt Recovery

We offer a free telephone consultation for thirty minutes. Our initial consultation fee will depend on which team member meets with you. During or following the meeting we will provide an estimate of costs. Our services are offered on an hourly rate basis.

The day-to-day running of your debt recovery matter will likely be conducted by Daniel Kendal, supervised by Evelyn Austin, although you shall be notified of who will be assisting at the outset.

Advice only – £750 to £2,500 plus VAT
Negotiating a settlement / issuing legal proceedings – £2,000 to £6,000 plus VAT
Preparation for court hearing – £10,000 to £30,000 plus VAT

Timescales

Undefended Settlement (no court proceedings), within two to six weeks.
Undefended court proceedings up to and including Judgment, within six to twelve weeks.
Defended court proceedings may take between six months to two years to reach a conclusion.
